IT'S GOLF SEASON ALREADY?

Can you believe the start of the 2012 PGA Tour is already upon us?

Well, ready or not, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions starts Friday in Hawaii and it features ALL of the winners on the PGA Tour in 2011, minus world number one Luke Donald, major champions Charl Schwartzel, Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke, WGC winners Adam Scott and Martin Kaymer and Mr. Lefty himself, Phil Mickelson. Oh, and Tiger Woods won't be in attendance either as he failed to win on the PGA Tour in 2011.

So, yea, the field of past champions is a little sparse for the first tournament of the year, but the way I see it is it gives golf fans a chance to get to know a few of the other talented professional golfers on tour.

Arguably one of the biggest story to come out of the offseason is Bubba Watson shooting a 14-under par 58 at the Estancia Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. And he live tweeted the finish!

Who was the previous course record holder? You guessed it, Bubba from Bagdad baby! I wonder how long it will take for Titleist to run an ad featuring Bubba and his magical round of 58?
