Jason Dufner Wins HP Byron Nelson Championship By mustang6560 on 5/21/12
Jason Dufner is the Tiger Woods of the 2012 PGA Tour season!
The Auburn University graduate sank a 25-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole of the HP Byron Nelson Championship to notch his second victory of his professional career. "You probably couldn't dream it any better than what's been going on here," Dufner said. "The wedding has been in the works for close to a year, so we know that's been coming around the corner. And there's been a lot of good golf since then, but to win two events and get married in the span of 22 days, pretty remarkable."Is there a better way to win than draining a birdie putt from 25 feet on the final hole? The walk-off ace might be slightly better. I was trimming my azalea bushes yesterday during the majority of the final round, but I walked inside just at the right time to watch Jason sink his birdie putt on 18. Before he attempted the putt, I figured the Byron Nelson was headed into a playoff. 25 feet is no gimmie putt, so I figured Jason was headed into a playoff with Dicky Pride to fight for his second professional victory. But, as soon as he hit the putt, it looked good all ofthe way. What a way to win! The win Sunday is Jason's second in a month, which propelled him to the top of the FEDEXCUP standings and to number three of the Ryder Cup standing. His first victory was three weeks ago at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. read more Image via Flickr, Keith Allison Did I miss something? Tip Your Editor [ comments ] no comments posted yet.
