Glass-Break Challenge, Trevor Linden-Style By Torleif Sorenson on 10/3/14
Most of you have seen the "glass-break challenge" that is part of Golf Channel's Big Break series. But Trevor Linden, "Captain Canuck" himself, recently took a different approach to the contest. (Linden was part of a special golf outing that included current Vancouver Canucks right wing Nicklas Jensen and goaltender Ryan Miller.) Here in the office of your humble correspondent, Trevor Linden needs no introduction. But for those of you unfamiliar with this Order of Canada recipient, here's a brief introduction: Linden was a National Hockey League player for exactly 20 years, having captain, including six seasons as captain of the Vancouver Canucks. He led the team to the now-legendary 1994 Stanley Cup Final, which ended in a nail-biting loss to the New York Rangers. During his career, he won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and the NHL Foundation Player Award for his leadership, charitable, and humanitarian efforts in British Columbia. More than five years after the team retired his #16 uniform number, he became the Canucks' President of Hockey Operations and the team's alternate governor. Watch an interesting golf video?
