Our early candidate for "Golfer of the Year" is 102-year-old Ida Pieracci, who plays golf four or five times each week at San Jose Country Club. Yes, the woman is almost as old as the course she plays.

The most-senior club member there was the subject of a short documentary by filmmaker Dustin Cohen, who also gets our nomination for "Filmmaker of the Year." The question most people ask when they encounter someone who senior to them is, "What is the secret to your longevity?" Ms. Pieracci's answer:

"Just being a good kid!"

What a lovely woman.
