A golf super's hazardous duty By Torleif Sorenson on 3/16/15
Ed Martinez is the golf course superintendent at the Deerwood Club of Kingwood, northeast of Houston, Texas. And we do not envy his job on days like last Friday, when he found this reptile on one hole of the Deerwood course. Talk about an occupational hazard! Have you seen an interesting golf story? Tell us about it! [ comments ] Of course, if the flagstick were in the this wouldn't happen but can you imagine sort of casually reaching into that hole? I would crap in my pants and at least consider getting one of those suction cups (which I abhor) for the end of my putter (assuming I survived the surprise encounter. 3/17/15
Yeah, I think that if I didn't attempt to kill the snake with the business-end of the flagstick, I would at least be calling thye clubhouse to have them get Animal Control out there. 3/17/15
