A Discussion of Feel
One of the most elusive qualities of a golf club is what we call “feel”. That’s because everyone has a different idea of just what “feel” is, and what feels best to them and it can’t be measured or quantified. In my discussions with golfers, I find that most relate “feel” to the sensation of impact, and that typically leads to the old forged vs. cast discussion.
But when we talk about the sensation of impact, there are many variables involved, not to mention the individual differences between golfers. So let’s dissect this first part of the feel equation down to its basics, and focus on irons and wedges only for this discussion:

Karl Spakler says:
I don't buy that head material has as much an influence in "feel" thing. I've used wedges with 10-series carbon, 304 stainless, 86-series carbon, 431 and 17-4 stainless. With all the same setup, there's very little difference. Dave Tutelman has mathematically proven that there's less than a 10% hardness difference between carbon and stainless steels. Ralph Maltby has done "blind" (well, deaf) testing for the same model- one forged, the other cast- with pro's and they couldn't tell a difference. Most carbon wedges have a hard chrome plating; you can tell your hand's in a glove, but can you "feel" your hand while it's in the glove? Even further proof most people don't feel the same thing: people rave about the "feel" of a chrome-plated Vokey, but don't like the feel of an unplated new Trusty Rusty. If head material is the only factor, the unplated model should, in theory, be the one with the best "feel". It's more a sign of brandwashing, in my opinion.
