Following a complete redesign by architect Richard Mandell, Keller Golf Course reopened on July 19, 2014 with new fairway grass, tee-boxes, bunker complexes, cart paths, and upgraded irrigation and drainage. The practice range was upgraded, while the clubhouse and pro shop were completely rebuilt to ADA-compliant specifications.

The original layout was a venerable Paul N. Coates parkland-style design that opened in 1929 and hosted several PGA and LPGA tournaments: The Saint Paul Open (1930-1968), the 1931 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, the U.S. PGA Championship (1932 and 1954), the 1949 Western Open, and the LPGA Patty Berg Golf Classic (1973-1980).

Keller is owned and operated by Ramsey County's Parks and Recreation Department, and is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
