Formerly known as Valley Country Club, this course opened with nine holes in 1971, and added a second nine in 1987.

Part of the course was devastated in the 1997 flood of the nearby Red River of the North. The original nine ("River Oaks") is a parkland-style layout, while the new nine, "Waters Edge" has a prairie-feel, designed by Martin Krueger and opened the spring of 2006.
