This is a beautiful course within the prestigious Corpus Christi Country Club Subdivision. A classic RTR design with outstanding undulating Tiff Eagle greens that usually run 9-10.5 feet on the Stimpmeter and lush Bermuda fairways. Numerous trees of diverse species, water and bunkers line the fairways and surround the greens. A majority of the bunkers have large rounded lips and steep faces, which draw balls into them like magnets. Fortunately, the medium grained bunkers are well maintained and furrowed allowing one to recover nicely provided one's sand game is sharp. Also, this course is watered by occasional rains and recycled water supplied by the city and run-off. There is a long wide driving range with target greens at convenient distances from the three tiered teeing area. Practice areas include a beautiful fairly large green, pithing/chipping/short game area with a two tiered target green and a sand bunker much like the ones on the course. The short game and bunker areas share a common target green. The golf staff are polite, courteous and very professional. Their head golf professional (Douglas DeSive) is an excellent teacher of the game and club fitter, and he maintains a very well stocked pro shop catering to all tastes in equipment and clothing. Along with tank tops and cut-offs, cargo shorts/pants are not allowed on the driving range or course. Without a doubt, this is the best golf facility in the Corpus Christi area. One must go to San Antonio, Austin or Houston to find a facility of equal quality.
