Perhaps the most notable elements here are the views: From the 12th tee (the highest point on the course), golfers have views of the English Channel from Beachy Head to the east and Selsey Bill to the west. On a clear day, the silhouette of the Isle of Wight is also visible on the western horizon. The course reportedly drains well after rainfall because the course was built upon a chalk base.

Five-time Open champion James Braid designed this course, which opened in 1908. Visitors are welcome at this course on weekdays and weekends, but need to book a tee-time in advance.
