The club formed in 1894, but moved to this site on the edge of Cannock Chase in 1923. The notable Harry Vardon designed the course, which remains largely intact from the original design.

Visitors are welcome at £40 on weekdays, then £45 on weekends (carts are £20). Junior, guest-of-member, and society/group rates are available.
