My club had an "away-day" at Studley Wood today and it was a lovely experience all round. The course was in very good conditiom, there were a very few patches still recovering from the excesses of rain we had but you would have had to be very unlucky to find them. The greens were pretty good and some were quite large as were a few of the bunkers. There is a bit of water around and also quite a few trees and bushes lining some of the fairways to make you think carefully about positioning your drives. The par 3s are all interesting and quite a challenge despite appearing fairly simple on the scorecard.
After the round we returned to the clubhouse for a post round drink and a nice meal. The quality of both were excellent and the chicken pie I had was excellent.

Excellent condition, good test of golf with tree lined holes plus plenty of water hazards.
