This attractive parkland course lies on the Wirral Peninsula, by the banks of Dee Estuary with views to the Welsh Hills. Among the architects who have done design work here are Jack Morris (nephew of Old Tom), Harry Vardon, Frank Pennink, and Donald Steel as recently as 2007.

Heswall has hosted the 2006 Junior Open, the 2006 through 2009 North of England Under 16s Championships, and the EWGA Northern Counties Match Week in June 2009.

Unaccompanied visitors are welcome at £60 on weekdays and weekends. Junior, Cheshire card-holder, and guest-of-member discounts are available. Societies and corporate groups are also welcome with prior arrangement.
