This attractive course opened in 1992 amongst mature oak and beech trees, dotted by remnants of old mining and brick-making buildings. Large pools on the 17th and 18th holes are evidence of the clay dug over 100 years ago for brickworks, which now serve as water hazards over the last four holes. The coal mining industry has left its mark on the course also in the form of copses of trees on the former pitmounds. The big hitters will drive over them on the dogleg 4th; others will take the safer route around in two.

The clubhouse is an attractive timber-framed building with a balcony. Owners Martin and Caroline Hamer strive to create a warm friendly atmosphere. As well as catering for club members, societies and visitors, the clubhouse is available for parties, meetings and dinners.

The summer visitor rates are £24 weekdays and £29 on weekends and bank holidays. Discounts are offered for juniors, county card-holders, and guests of members. Societies are also welcome with advance arrangements.
