Just back from a superb Society day's golf.
The course was in superb condition and the greens were almost totally unblemished, rolled very true and were very slick as well.
The course is pretty hilly in places but easy enough to negotiate and I didn't find it too difficult or tiring to play 27 holes without a buggy. You start with a long uphill par 4, and then go back down with another par 4. The third hole isn't that long, but there are 2 cavernous bunkers protecting it and escaping them is definitely not easy for even competent bunker players. There aren't too many bunkers around the course and they all seem consistent.
Overall there is a lot of variety on the course and you can use your driver on most of the par 4s and 5s without too much fear of getting into trouble.
There isn't that much rough and even if the balls go in amongst the trees, finding them isn't too difficult as the grass is well trimmed under them.
The clubhouse is nicely presented and the food we had (bacon sarnies to start the day, and mixed sarnies and chips for lunch were well prepared and presented) Drinks were reasonably priced and the service was good.
Overall I can highly recommend the course though it is by no means easy, especially if the wind blows (as it did) because it is pretty open.
If you're nearby and want to play golf, you will enjoy this course.

Greens excellent. Wide fairways. Very good condition all round. A long slog when walking up a down those hills despite only being around 6400 on yellows. Some walking between some greens and tees. Enjoyed the day there.

Lovely course, 10th green was being rebuilt and the temp green was a bit ridiculous on a slope but course in general was great. Some nice variation with some water in play on a few holes.

Played on a windy cold day - sorry, VERY windy cold day and that coloured our opinions I think. The greens were absolutely superb, true and quick - excellent, but there is no shelter up there from the wind and we were really frozen cold during our round. I was expecting a much tougher course, everyone who is a member thinks it has toughened up over the past 18 months, but we didn't notice much difference

Cracking place. Best maintained greens i've ever played on, apparently usually run about 10 on the stimp!! Wonderful views. Decent fairways, plenty of trouble catching stray drives!
