Hend-Co-Hills is both challenging and fun to play for players of all skill levels.

The front and back nines offer distinct challenges as well as different sceneries. The front nine is longer and more open than the back nine. It has a links feel and generally plays firm and fast. Wind is often a challenge because the front nine sits atop one of the highest points in Henderson County and is exposed to the elements. It can be described as gently rolling hills, generous fairways, and large undulating greens.

The back nine is incredibly scenic. The South Henderson Creek meanders through the back nine and comes into play on four occasions. The back nine is shorter, but places a higher premium on accuracy. The fairways are narrower and lined with imposing trees. The back nine greens are slightly smaller than the front nine greens and can be a challenge to putt.
