Started on #3.
Sunny, humid, 90 degrees. A 5+ mph breeze made it tolerable in the shade.
Course was wet from torrential thunderstorms. Water in bunkers, cart path only on a lot of holes. Played long with the soft fairways. Greens were quick and soft so holding the green was not an issue. Rough was not long but thick. Hard to get a clean solid hit.
I did not have it today. Driving was not consistent and my iron/hybrid play was extremely inconsistent. In general I putted well but after taking "9" on #10, I sort of lost interest and mainly tried to make birdies to win a skin. Which led to my 3-putting #2, our last hole, from 10 feet and much of my trouble coming in.
#10 was interesting. I hit a decent drive but caught a wet spot and it resulted in a very short drive. Very solid 3-wood got me back in a better position but still 175 out, into the wind. Hole was tucked as far back and left as it could be, behind a large bunker, so when I hit a solid hybrid, it was toward the right side. When I got to the green, no ball. There is long grassy heather to the right and rear of the green. I can only assume it took a bad bounce and went into that area. Rather than go back and re-try the shot (and likely get 7 or 8), I just took a "9", our group's maximum, and moved on.
