60 degrees, sunny, little wind, maybe half a club.
Course was a little soft but there was some decent roll and bounce at times. Greens very firm, smooth and quick. Best the greens have been here in my memory.
I signed up online as part of a foursome. I arrived early and although I think we were the 2nd tee time, somehow three consecutive singles teed off. I introduced myself to a twosome, Kim and Bill, married and about my age. We were all walking and it worked out that the 4th member of the group ditched us and speed off in his cart.
I had a few rough patches, 3 putting early (2nd hole) and then hitting into the lateral hazard on the left side of the 3rd hole. Then I settled down and made some decent shots and rolled a few putts in.
My two birdie putts were each about 12-18 inches. I chunked a wedge on the first par 5 and made bogey. Then three putted from 12 feet on the next hole for bogey. I was really feeling like things were getting away from me. #15 is 408 yards and I hit my best drive of the day. I then crushed a 7 wood from a side hill lie in the fairway and it ended up a foot from the hole. Promptly three putted the long par 3 16th. Back in the fire. I hit two good shots and made a nice 2-putt from the back of the 17th green, down a very steep slope. Only the 437 yard finishing hole was left. They had the tee up so it was 410 yards. A poor drive and mediocre second shot left me around 75 yards out. I putt my sand wedge to 1 inch from the hole. Woo hoo, a round in the 70's.
