70-80 degrees, sunny, no wind. Humid but early n the morning very nice.
Course was firm. Greens reasonably receptive and not overly quick.
A tale of two nines. The first nine I couldn't putt and hit two balls into hazards (penalty areas). I saw that I had scored a 43 and figured the odds of shooting in the 70's were slim and none, especially when I bogeyed #10. Then something happened and I could do no wrong.
Next hole I hit a nice drive in the fairway but it was in a divot hole. No problem, I hit a crisp iron to the middle of the green and rolled in a 20 footer for birdie. On #13 I hit into a fairway bunker. No problem, hit a hybrid on the green and two putted. When we got to the back-to-back par fives, I had birdies from inside of 8 feet. #18 was the capper. The hole location was far right and as far back as the green allows. 225 yards to the hole. I hit driver to 20 feet and then said to my buddy, "My personal record for birdies in a round is 5. Maybe today is the day I tie the record. Bang, right into the hole.
