Sunny, not much wind, warm (80's).
Course was firm. Rough long and thick so it was difficult to get a club on the ball. Greens very firm and quick. The course put the holes in the toughest locations possible. Everything was very far front or very far back, tucked into little areas with slopes.
I started the day teeing off from the wrong tees (2nd time this year). We put our club's tee markers out along with all the course's markers so the tee is a very crowded location. When I am distracted, I wander over to the wrong set of tees and boom, 2 stroke penalty. Then to top off the start with a bang, I roll in a double bogey saving putt only to have it hit the upside down cup bottom and bounce out. I never really got my "head" into the tournament after that. Took too many chances in a vain attempt at getting some strokes back.
Also, the very firm greens really did a number on me. I hit the front or middle of the green and the ball would race to the back or go off the green. As a result, I was really screwed by all the hole locations on the very front, guarded by bunkers or hazards. I could not hit the ball close without risking (and often going into) the sand or hazard.
Just a really tough day.
