Okay round. A few bad lies hurt me. Eg. great drive on 14, but got hung up in recess along the top of the lip of right fairway bunker. Only had 90 yards in, but had to go deep into the recess to get to the ball and ultimately got more than I expected possible. Hit it over the green. On 18 par 5 (which was playing long today uphill with soft turf after heavy rain Wednesday night into Thursday) hit a decent drive and a good 3W, leaving me an easy PW approach, but from the center rough. Hit it too high from the uphill lie, robbing distance. Came down in the deep bunker in front of green. Thought about playing an extra club, but felt I would fly the green with a 9i. Shouda hit 9i in hindsight.
Pitchip in bird on 16. Perfect 58* from 10 yards off green, over the grass bunker in front, one bounce, checked up and rolled straight in. Also on 2nd, nearly chipped in from 6 yards off front to a front pin. Came up 2 inches short for tap in par.
Switched back to the Tensei stiff shaft in driver today. Tried a new Titleist Tour Speed ball today on the front, but switched back to Pro V1x on back. Like the feel of the V1x more with the Tensei shaft. Played better on the back with the V1x, too.
