Damp, drizzle on and off, cart path only, very soft fairways. No roll, again.
Hit the ball okay mostly. Did not score all that well, but not too upset, as my short game shined, again. Another sandy from greenside bunker on 7th to 3' to save par. Unfortunately, all my great short game work is being highlighted because I am missing far too many greens. Looking forward to a bit firmer conditions in the fall.
The aeration is basically healed. No excuses. And with another round of under 30 putts (29 today), no need to make excuses.
Though it seems I missed a lot of fairways today, the misses were just off in most cases. Only one badly pulled driver on 5th, into the deep crap on the left. Cost me a penalty stroke.
Two doubles today also hurt. The first on 8th. Pull-drew a 4i way left into tree by cart path and it ricocheted back into lower bunker. Tried to get a 54 up to the green but got it too fat and barely made it out. Then pitched on for 3rd over the front bunker to the front pin, but ended up 10' past the hole and two-putted for double. On the 12th, hit a great drive, albeit just right of the fairway on top of a mogul. The lie was questionable, but I was able to get a hybrid on it, though not cleanly. Cleared the hazard area, but left me well below the green at the bottom of the steep sidehill below the bunkers. Got a little too tentative with the pitch and came up short of the green by a few feet. Then chip went 8 feet past and I missed the bogey saving putt. Another double.
Chip in on 14th saved par.
Overall, played decently. Scored below average.
Left shoulder really hurting.
