Played with Rope and Mark, but match played only with Mark. Beat him 5 and 4. Gave him 10 strokes. He played the whites with Rope, I played the blues.
With the exception of a OB drive left on 18th, costing me stroke and distance and the only lost ball of the round, played a very good back nine and a decent front nine. Greens were running faster today than yesterday and I had a bit of trouble dialing in the speed.
Was good to play with Rope. Satisfying actually. Though we've known each other from around the course for years, it was the first time I played with him. He has plenty of distance to play the blues with me, but he says he likes the whites because he can shoot par from the whites, so why play blues? I told him I like the extra pressure it puts on my game. And that I have become a much better long iron player as a result. Then I beat him by at least three or four strokes from the blues today and out drove him on most drives, even from a set of tees in some cases 30-40 yards further back. So, I guess I made my point.
Poor Mark, on the other hand, got another trouncing from me in our match, and in stroke play as well. Gave him 10 strokes but beat him by 22! I think he owes me about $30,000 by now! LOL
Continue to play solid golf. Driver was good all day, except when I over-swung on 18th. and pulled it into the trees, which cost me the penalty and a perfectly good AVX which already had a few rounds on it from earlier this week.
