It was around 38 degrees at tee off. warmed up gradually thru the round to around 65 degrees. No wind. Sunny once it got above the tree tops.
Course was in decent shape. Firm fairways, tough rough, greens smooth and very quick.
I have a couple problems with course. I had not played here in 25+ years and now I remember why. The course yardages are really misleading. The "White" tees loo to be a manageable 6,080 yards. The par, however, is 71 so the yardage is slightly understated. Then you have on the front nine a few par 4 holes at 292, 278 and 341. Easy, right? Well, those holes all require threading the needle or a short layup. Then they have a 390 yard par 4 that goes up to a green perched on a 100 foot high hill along with par 4's of 410 and 403 and a 562 par 5. All the holes have lots of slopes, fairway bunkers and penalty areas. Also, all the fairways are somewhat "crowned" so if you miss a fairway or hit near the edge, bye bye golf ball.
The second nine is much less difficult with few bunkers and generally flatter terrain.
We were going to play the "White" tees until we got to hole #2 and looked a bit closer at the card.
