Cold and wet. 50 degrees and raw. Finally got to play 18 holes without dealing with a huge crowd. Been nearly 2 weeks since I got in a full 18 at WM. Finished in under 3 hours.
Very soft conditions today. Rained all day yesterday and this morning. Course played very long as a result. Thought about moving up a tee, but, decided to take the extra challenge? So, played my regular tees.
Didn't hit enough greens mostly due to the extra length. Except for the fact that I got no roll, I hit some good drives. Chipped in on 7th for birdie from just off the left side of the green. Knew as soon as I hit the chip it would be perfect. Saw it going in the whole way.
Moved the ball back in my stance with driver a little to help combat the recent left pull draws. It worked. At least it did today. Tomorrow's another day.
Thought I might shoot a round in the 70s after a decent front then a par, birdie, par start to the back. I just kind of got sloppy after that. Too many bogeys. Thought I might par 16 after a 3W approach off the edge of the green, but went on to 3-putt for bogey. Still had a chance to break 80 on the 18th after a decent drive and 3W second shot that left me 104 yards out with a clear shot at the pin. I pulled out a GW and hit it flush. Looked good all the way, but was surprised when it landed a couple yards short of the green. There was some wind in my face that I did not take into account before I hit it. Chipped it 6 feet past and missed the par saver. Damn!
It was good to play without the massive crowds of late. Even without breaking 80, it was enjoyable.
