Perfect weather. 75, sunny with just a slight breeze.
The course was a bit soft from a lot of rain over the past 2 weeks but not soggy. Rough was not high but very dense and healthy. It was hard for us seniors to get the club through the spinach. Greens were smooth and quick.
My expectations were low. I had not hit a ball in 8 days and did not warm up or hit any practice putts. I was the Tournament Director and busy making sure the 100 seniors had a successful event. I was shaky for quite a bit of the first nine (we started on 10), culminating in the "7" on #16. At that point I got things in gear and played well until my choke at the 9th (our final hole). 80, not 79 ... sigh. Still, my best tournament score of 2021.
