Sunny, 80, little wind.
Course was soggy and the rough very long. We have had several days of rain. Greens receptive and rolled well.
Did not have "it" today. Part of the problem was the pace of play. My buddy and I were joined by a man and wife. They were slow, but not as slow as the groups ahead. It must have been couples Saturday. We played the first nine in fits and starts for almost 3 hours. We would wait on the tee, then finally tee off. Our new friends would then collectively hit about 6-8 times to get to our drives, where we would then wait another 5 minutes on the group ahead. At the turn, we saw the group ahead of us come out of the clubhouse with hotdogs and drinks. The 10th tee was open. We drove past the 4-some to the tee and then waited to see what would happen. Our two new friends were being polite and trailed the 4-some as then came to the 10th. The foursome agreed to let us through and we were off to the races. I think Burt & Carol realized they had to pick up the pace so they started to play a lot faster, We did the second nine in 1 hour 15 minutes. Everyone except the doofusses ahead of (& now behind) us just played nine.
No more Saturday afternoon golf.
