Cool for late July but very nice. Little wind and hazy sun. 70s at the end.
Course was soft and we were definitely getting less roll out. Greens firm and a bit slower than normal. Rough long and healthy. Hitting out of the rough was tough.
Other than one hole, I was mostly hitting on all cylinders. Driving was mostly good, iron play was good and short game was excellent, including putting.
My 9. I hit into the rough and tried too hard to hit a good shot, which resulted in my pulling the ball into the woods for a stroke and distance penalty. Tried again with only a bit more success. Laid up short of the hazard, wedged on and 3-putted for 9.
To my credit, I played the next 8 holes in +1. I had three birdie putts inside of 10 feet on the second nine but failed to convert.
