We started on #3 and played a blended tee at a little less than 6,000 yards.
Sunny and in the upper 70's. Not much more than a breeze. Perfect. The course was firm despite there being a few soggy patches. Greens were very firm and only the most perfectly struck shot would hold.
I was really playing well, even putting well despite the 37 putts. A few loose shots were all that stood between me and a low round.
I ended up tied for Net 1st Place. It felt good to be in the winner's circle 7+ months after my brain surgery. Many years ago I would occasionally win Low Gross in the "A" Flight. Now I am a "B" Flighter, playing short tees and need my full handicap to sneak into a win. I need to enjoy these moments because they will come to an end soon.
