After a very positive round on Sunday, was concerned the day off on Monday would have me lose touch with all the good moves I was making with my swing and tempo. But it was all still there. Played solidly both on the front and back. After hitting the green on 2nd, ended with a 3-putt bogey, but that did not deter me. My first putt from 25 feet was good, but a bit short. 2nd burned cup. It appeared to break slightly right. I gave it a ball outside. It finished straight. A ball outside. Hit it exactly as planned, just didn't believe it would go straight. It did.
On 7th, over cooked my drive. It landed underneath the fairway bunker on the side of the hill. Between the draw spin and momentum, it bounced down the hill into the hazard. Penalty. Drop. But a good recovery and bogey.
A nestled-down lie out of deep rough, just off the fairway on 9th resulted in a poor strike, requiring a layup on my next shot and another bogey. 3 over for the front.
Only one bogey on the back due to an errant tee shot (way over-cooked). Another good recovery, but still, bogey. Game was solid the entire round. Can't wait to see if I can put three rounds together with this type of consistent play. Unfortunately, working the next two days. So, we shall see.
Of note, parred the difficult 12th hole two rounds in a row and birdied the 14th both days as well. FWIW, pars on 12 are tougher to come by than birdies on 14.
