Bernie invited me to play Musket after giving him multiple comp rounds at PBD. Nice payback, though would have been nicer had my game been a bit sharper. Compared to WM and PBD, Musket should have been a breeze, especially from the whites. However, I was not comfortable on the greens for the first bunch of holes and my confidence over the ball with my irons wasn't as solid as it has been after a few questionable swings to start out. Something wasn't right. Tempo? Not sure. Hit it well for the most part, but had a couple poor shots leading to bogies when I missed the green either short or long on the first three par 4s, as well as a few others later in the round.
Driver was good on a few, but not on enough. Probably had a B or B- game today overall. This course is easily get-able with my B+ or A- game....and a little bit more local knowledge. Though I've played it more than a handful of times in the past over the years, I don't play it often enough to understand all its nuances yet.
We played in about three hours, only having to wait on the 17th for a couple minutes. An enjoyable round despite a score which should have been about 4 strokes lower.
