Partly sunny, 50 degrees, very windy at 20 mph with much larger gusts.
Course was a bit soft but there was some roll. Greens mostly smooth and moderate paced. Rough long and damp.
I was not expecting to score as well as I did. My recent prior history predicted a score in the low to mid-80's, especially with the wind.
I drove the ball very well and for once my irons and fairways cooperated. Short game was good and my putting was decent. The final 3 holes were challenging. #16 was down wind with the hole in the back. Probably 230 yards. I nailed my driver and it went over the green. Bogey. Next hole was dead nuts into the wind at 384 yards. I again nailed my drive and had only 200 yards to the green. Nailed a 3-wood and came up 20 yards short. A little pitch and a breaking 10 footer made par. Fina hole was again straight into the wind at 403 yards. Hit a good drive but had 210 yards or so left. A poorly hit 3-wood left me hitting an 8-iron to a back pin. A solid hit and darned if the ball didn't end up over the green. Poor chip and 2 putts for a double. Grrrrrrrr.
