Designed by Stanley Thompson, Uplands first opened in 1922 as an eighteen hole private course, but urban sprawl engulfed half of the course, so in 1989 it became a nine-hole layout that runs through a large forest of mature trees.

The walking rates for 18 holes are C$52 weekdays and C$68 weekends; 9-hole rates are lower, plus season specials are advertised on their web site.

Great layout with lots of elevation changes but they need some water, maintenance and yardage sticks. Could be a lot better with some more effort.

The 8th is rated one of the top 20 holes in Canada. A wicked high tee to low green with a narrow corridor par 3. Worth the price for the view alone.
