Still using SkyGolf360. First round since February was yesterday (3/21) if we want to call what I was doing "golf". I felt pretty low after that mess but there is time to right the ship.
Yes I moved over to the Grint. I'm still getting used to it. SG360 seems easier, but I've used it for years. Overall, the Grint offers most everything that SG does. Unfortunately, writing long-winded summaries like I did on oob and SG is not quite as simple. They say they are working on that feature. The nice thing about Grint is that management listens to you and actually gets back to you in a timely manner whenever you need their help.
There are about 7 or 8 of us on the Grint from LegitimateGolf now. I pay for the pro version which is the same cost as the SG upgraded version, but it gives me a free GPS app on my phone. Though I primarily use a rangefinder, it's nice having the quality satellite view offered on the app as well. It's actually better than the GPS on Worthington's carts. BTW, Worthington got some brand new carts last week with the remainder of the total 75 new carts being delivered this week. They all have USB ports so plugging in phone when using the Grint's GPS keeps it charged up to 100%

But...it answers the question as to whether you have recovered from your knee surgery. Probably still sore/stiff but it works!!
Nice comeback on the homeward nine. It took nine holes to work the kinks out. ;)
"Had my left knee scoped last week to clean some debris out. Hope to be back by March."
I had noticed you were not playing. An operation this time of year makes sense. Come back strong in March.
It looks like we both sort of found our game late this year and now we have run out of time (and decent weather). Stay out of trouble and we can pick things back up when the weather improves.

Hope you don't get disqualified for playing the course between rounds. Rules don't typically allow play between rounds on the actual course of which the tourney is being played. (USGA Rule 7-1b.) The rules committee may disregard that rule (or others) if they so choose, but in theory, it must be stated in the condition of competition (CoC). Otherwise all USGA rules are supposed to apply. I know at my old club, more than a few guys have been disqualified in the club championship for playing between rounds, because it wasn't specifically stated in the CoC that it was allowed. There were some arguments the first year it happened, but in the end they decided that rules are rules and held the guy who played between rounds on the course responsible for knowing the rules and had to disqualify him. When it happened again, the precedent at the club had already been set, so the arguments went nowhere. Immediate DQ. Our membership was pretty serious about rules, particularly Club Championships.
Thanks for noticing the "1". Did you purchase a membership at Jonathan's Landing? And when are you going to rejoin the rapidly shrinking crew at Legitimate Golf?
Hope life in Delaware as a retiree is working well. I work 2 days a week and right now life is pretty nice in the Temporarily Temperate Mitten.
Thanks for noting a decent round by me at A-Ga_Ming. You are in mid-season form. Nice. I am still searching for the elusive key to playing better and more consistently.

Thought that looked like you. I was inside at the bar and my buddy (another member) mentioned someone playing in jeans on the 14th. I looked out the window and said, man he looks familiar. Then I noticed the lefty swing and said "I think he's a guy I know." He said, "I'm surprised they let him out in jeans." And I said, "If it's who I think it is, he knows me, so they must have let him slide!" LOL
Damn good score. Wind was a factor yesterday, at least when we played. Started to calm down a bit by the end. And the greens are difficult. I played the whites too, due to the wind, and also shot 80. And thought, given the conditions, I should be satisfied. But I play there 3 or 4 days a week. You haven't played there in awhile. Very impressive.
Looks like both our seasons have been sort of up and down. I should be able to play once or twice more and then we have the big freeze coming. Hope DE is milder than MD. Play all year!!

Glad it's not just me. Ball is going nowhere, even when hitting it well. I have moved back to the whites for my last 3 rounds, all in the cold wet conditions. Hope you are doing well in DE.

CeeBee says:
Gluten for punishment you are. White tees and have some fun.
I have actually been playing the blues a lot the last couple months and it has not put a lot of pressure on my game. My driver has been pretty good and long, and frankly as a result, I feel very I am happy on the blue tees. Hitting the ball well off the tee right now, with good distance across the board. My performance in general from the blue tees has been generally competent. At 137 slope, it just satisfies me. I don't feel like the extra length has punished me much at all. Yesterday, shot 81 from the blues against two good younger (35-40 yr old) players who are both serious golfers. I crushed them both even though they outdrove me by 40 or 50 yards at times. My game is solid overall right now.
Of course I don't make birdies from either set of tees the way you pull them off. ;-)

Glad to see you are getting some reps in. Great back nine. Same as I pulled off when we last played I went 44/36 too. You must have felt like a pro on the back.
I am not having a good week. Played 16 holes on Monday when darkness stopped me. Then Tuesday, bacterial infection stopped me after 7 holes, though didn't know it at the time. Could not swing without intense pain. Went to walk-in clinic that night. Had CT Scan yesterday at Frederick Hospital to confirm diagnosis. Meds starting to work. Hope to play soon.

Saw your Trailblazer when I went up to do some testing with new driver around 7:15. Wanted to try some different shafts in it. Range was closed, which I had forgotten, so I played 10 balls off the first tee from the blues, with 3 different shafts, went out and picked them all up, came back and played them all again with different set ups. It was enlightening. I only hooked one into the trees left and had one poor drive that I popped up into those same trees. But, the other 18 shots were all good and gave me good information. I think I found the right set up. Felt good. Hit 4 or 5 drives 240 with no extra roll to speak of. Looked for you when I came back, but you were already gone.

Great to see you're still alive. Injuries can really make playing the game difficult. As if it isn't difficult enough already!
Are you spending a lot more time in Delaware these days?

Chris, what happened to you? We were concerned over at LegitimateGolf. BK finally found out you have a bad knee. I thought your back might be the problem. Was surprised to hear about your knee. How did that happen? I'm disappointed for you. You just retire, can play all the golf you want and now your knee is bad? Sucks. Fill me in.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 02/25/2017 at 6:07pm
Must have been pretty breezy out there. Everybody has a tough round now and then. Besides, it's not like an 84 in the wind is terrible. I'd take it. Was thinking of playing, but decided I needed a couple days off for my shoulder. The wind would only make me work harder. You, on the other hand, will play in any conditions. My hero.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 02/16/2017 at 5:02pm
I don't think I would have/could have played in 37 degrees and a 2 club wind, especially knowing that this weekend and all next week is supposed to be in the high 50s and 60s. But, then again, I am not you. You're a crazy man.
Another great job in those conditions. Not getting much golfing in here in FL. Shoulder not good and family commitments are limiting. Maybe a round tomorrow depending on pain and tee time availability. We'll see. Leaving Saturday.

Wow. 77 at Whiskey Creek. I don't know why I should be surprised. Great job. Totally clean front. Impressive. Wind probably started to play into things on the back, huh? Got pretty breezy at WM by 2 or so.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 01/30/2017 at 6:49pm
Quite a front nine, not that the back wasn't good too. No 3-putts. Another ho-hum birdie for you. Only one? You continue to play like a pro. Doesn't matter what the temperature is. Nothing fazes you. I think this retirement thing is gonna suit you well.
My game will be tested in a couple weeks. Headed to Florida. Doubt I'll be hitting greens like I have been from the short tees lately. I'll be happy to shoot mid 80s. Okay, well maybe I won't be happy, but somewhat satisfied.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 01/26/2017 at 5:41pm
Is my math right? Did you play 36 today in this wind? Or was one of those 9 hole scores one of Charlie's? Either way, 27 or 36, you're a glutton for punishment. Jus sayin'.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 01/26/2017 at 5:36pm
Crazy. I thought about playing until that wind started up and then thought better of it. Seems like a lot more than a 2 club wind at my house. We're getting 30mph gusts. You guys are crazy. And a 78 in those conditions is like a 70 under normal conditions. Great job. I hate wind (unless I'm sailing).

Good start. And again, two more birds! The Birdieman!
It was a nice day out there, for sure. We were pretty busy over at WM, but only a 4 hour round. And, only the front was cart path.

Congratulations on a nice round AND retirement. See, as soon as you stop working, the game becomes easy. If the play yesterday was slow, I heard it was some guy practicing fairway bunker shots that held up the course. ;)
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 01/13/2017 at 5:54pm
Yes, as I said a few weeks back, the tees are up. But like you say, ya still got to get it in the hole. 4 freakin' birdies? Amazing. I am going to get the shock of my life when the tees get moved back to normal. These regular 70s I've been shooting will probably be mid 80s once the season kicks off. You, on the other hand, seem to play in the 70s more often than not, no matter whether in season or out of season.
I wasn't sure I was going to play today. Got done with my car service appointment much earlier than expected and drove by the course to see no one there, so, what the hell. Pulled in to the lot, took a chance with my shoulder and went out for another 18. Sorry I missed you out there.

I'll take a 78 any time. Glad to see you got out there on this sunny, 60+ degree day. At least somebody took advantage. Was just not physically ready to myself. Another day or so I hope.

Yes, it was balmy this morning. So, I figured I'd give it a shot myself today. Did not expect that front to come through. That was wicked. I decided to start out by walking the back nine to help me stay warm (and get some exercise now that my leg is feeling better). By the time I went out it was going on 2 pm. It was "blowin' like stink" as we sailors say. Ball blew off the tee twice and one ball on the green just took off as I was standing over it to line it up. We had some gusts over 40 mph, for sure. I was having a hard time thinking. Started 4,5,5,7,4,3, and then couldn't take it anymore and headed for my car. An 83 in those conditions ain't too bad. I just give you credit for getting in the whole 18. I was too much of a wimp.

You're crazier than I am. There is no freakin' way I would have even thought about playing yesterday, even if I was physically able to and hadn't played in a month. That wind was bad. How the hell did you hit any greens? Must have been about a 4 club wind when going into it. I guess I should assume your GIRs were the downwind ones!

Jealous that you could play this weekend. We were "snowed in" with a 1/2 inch covering everything. It is clear now so there is hope this week.

Now that's more like what I expect from you. A 78 and 79 in the same day. Great work. Easy to forget about Saturday after that, huh? I felt better at WM the next day too. Though, not as well as you did at Black Rock, but at least I was comfortable over the ball again. Hit more greens, putted with more conviction and didn't lose a ball. That in itself was a good round after Saturday's debacle. Looks like we both recovered, thankfully.

Amazing. Another sub-80 round at Worthington. Getting around without a 3-putt is quite a feat in itself at WM. You might want to consider signing up for the club championship in August if you keep kicking butt there like this.
Actually, the Frederick City Senior Amateur Open is being played at Clustered Spires next Saturday, July 30. You really might have a chance to make a strong showing. There is even a 2nd flight for those over 60. They play from the white tees. Your game seems on, you know Clustered well, go for it. I considered it myself, but my game is not quite where I want it yet, nor is my confidence. Haven't played any official tournaments since I moved from CT. Don't know the golf scene here. Still in my own little world over at WM.

Good to see you back on the course. The Beef plays Beth Page Black tomorrow. I predict a blood bath but hopefully he surprises me. He tends to play from a too long tee and he has a cousin or something with him so he may throw caution to the wind.

Looks like you and Charlie were both on fire today. I'm afraid to play with you guys right now. You'll leave me in the dust. It will be over a week before I play again, since the last round this past Sunday at Gettysburg. And my last 4 or 5 rounds have not been good at all. Totally lost my mojo. I am jealous of your hot game of late. I can not putt for anything right now. Had seven 3-putts last Saturday and a bunch more on Sunday. I'm lost out there. Can't read 'em, can't judge speed. How are the greens at Glade Valley right now?

Hey Chris. Hope your back does not give you trouble all season. Chronic injuries are the worst. Between your back and my shoulders, they will have to give us a handicap flag on our cart when we play together. Speaking of which, I am thinking of playing tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday). If you are in the neighborhood and want to join me let me know.
I have my posse from CT coming for rounds Friday through Sunday, so if I still have shoulders left after those 3 days in a row, I probably won't be able to use them next week. I'm in CT next week anyway. Moving out of the shop. The following week, my Mom is visiting us here, but I still hope to get out a couple days that week. If tomorrow is no good for you, then maybe in a couple weeks. Stay in touch.
FYI, conditions aren't great at WM. Aeration in mid-march on greens, tees and fairways is not healing very fast since we haven't had much rain and the temps were so cold. This week should help, though rain looks light.

That's the CeeBee we know. 27 holes a day. Grinding. If you go to a place that is warm and dry, I suspect your driving issues will clear up. Keep hitting it.

I don't know about you, but wind always gets in my head. And once I try to beat it by swinging harder (even though I am fully aware I need to swing easier), I miss the sweetspot by a mile and hit a shit shot. Then I get pissed off and hit more and more shit shots. Then I question every bit of talent I have and hit more shit shots. I get it. And I have been there too many times to count. Tomorrow is another day. Go to the range, hit a few easy shots, find your tempo and then try again. It's only one round that isn't counted in your GHIN anyway.
Back to CT tomorrow for me. Gonna be a rough month between traveling back and forth, but hopefully we can hook up when I'm here for more than a few days in a row. Bring Charlie too. We owe him a beatdown after that last 70-something round he shot with us. ;)
The weather has been a bit of a problem with rain. I "played" last Friday but it was a real slog and not a lot of excitement. I should have played Saturday but the weather was too nice. With only about 20% of the courses open, every place was jammed and I just did not want to spend 5 hours on our muddy/soggy courses.
I would play today but we have a high wind warning (50 mph gusts). Sigh.

I'm the Ice King! It works. Trust me. I've kept a torn rotator cuff going for the last 4 years with ice and PT exercises.
Oh shit. March 15. Now it all counts.
Hope your back feels better soon. Don't let it get out of hand. (I'm going to chiropractor myself on Friday morning for my 2nd visit, to deal with my recent neck/upper back issues, before they get any worse.)

A 38 and 39 last week equal 77. Now another 77. After a long layoff. Seems like you are taking no prisoners.
Your distance loss is likely, at least partially, due to colder temps. When it's 80* or more, with firmer conditions, you'll get better distance. And yes you can fly your 7 iron 155, almost as far as your hybrid, but don't get too upset about that. Callaway XRs are really jacked up (if that's what you are still playing). The 7 iron is 30*. My 6i is 30* and I hit it about 155 when I hit it well. My 7i is 34*. Mid season, no wind, pure sweetspot contact, maybe I hit it 145, at best.
Is Poolesville better or worse than Glade Valley? Either way, it's gotta smell better. LOL.

38/39. Not a bad two-day total. 77. It's killing me not to be at WM with this great weather. I'm planning to play Oxford Greens with some of my old crew tomorrow. Supposed to be 60*. Rather be in MD. I'm sure the conditions are not as good here in CT.
FYI, WM has some new special packages available. Don't know if you saw them yet. Maybe there's something that fits your budget. Either way, we'll get out there together again soon. Hope your back is feeling better.

Not too bad, particularly on a 3250 yd nine. Long par 5 on 10th. Tough start, but you parred it. Nice job. A helluva lot better than I have been doing in Florida. Is this course close to where you're moving in Delaware?
Didn't play as much as I had hoped down here. Bad kink in neck. Not sure what happened. May need a chiropractor to fix it when I get home. Let's play sometime soon, once I'm back to playable condition.
"Man don't be telling everyone about that double hit. "
That's why I put it on your private page and not in the forums for the whole world to see! Besides, we've all done it....and many other stupid things. Me especially.
Chris: Was just perusing through my new 2016 USGA rulebook and came upon that rule that came up the other day when you double hit your shot. I was correct. It is only 1 penalty stoke, plus the initial stroke. Hope you didn't add 2 penalty strokes.
FYI Rule 14-4 reads:
If a player's club strikes the ball more than once during the course of a stroke, the player must count the stroke and add a penalty stroke, making two strokes in all.
I was happy to confirm I was correct on that, as I have had MANY double hits over the years and have only added one stroke penalty (and only when playing in a tournament or friendly match against someone).
Gonna try to sneak in a round this week somewhere here close to my shop. Supposed to be sunny and 40s starting tomorrow for a few days. I expect you and Charlie will be out there as well, only in slightly warmer conditions. Enjoy.

Glad you were both able to make it. Enjoyed it. Sorry it's so expensive though. They shouldn't charge you any more than the temperature is outside! That would be more fair, huh? Glade Valley with you guys is next on my list. Maybe when it's not so uncomfortable out there.
BTW, when I mentioned after finishing up our 27th that I shot 39 on the back both times around, I added wrong. SkyGolf input corrected me with a 40 the first time around. Damn.

Enjoyed playing with you. We'll do it again...and again and again, I'm sure. I'll even come over to Glade Valley for a personal guided tour from you.
(You might need to give me three a side there.)
I'm not the least bit surprised you went back out and carded a 38 for the extra nine.
Chris, I plan to be at WM tomorrow, but need to get out early so I can be home by around 2pm. Any chance you can go out at 10:30? It looks like tee times are booking up for the morning, though 11:10-11:50 is all open at this point. Then 12:20 is next available time. I need to get out before 11. Preferably 10:30ish. Would Charlie be coming too? I can ask Dick at the front desk to put me with you at your tee time. In the meantime I can go play the back if it's open, then meet you for the front nine. That's an option anyway. If that doesn't work, and the weather holds, let's make a date and tee time ahead of time soon. I am off to CT for two weeks starting next Tuesday. Not supposed to be very warm between now and then. I might play one or the other afternoon this weekend, gotta see which one works better with my wife's plans. Only supposed to be mid-40s though. Let me know what you think about tomorrow.

Yes, very wet at WM today too. Found "pitch" marks off driver usually about 1 foot from where ball stopped. Frustrating. It IS December 26th, so I guess we can't complain too much.

You haven't played (or entered a score) since Sunday? Where ya been? Work getting in the way or something?
Hey, I saw your comment about Oxford Greens being 300 yards longer. There is some validity to that, however, I think the real difference is that you get no second chances at OG compared to WM. If you go too far off the tee left or right of the fairway at OG, you usually have no shot. And the greens are very protected. Fairways are bordered on both sides by trees on virtually every hole. There are no side by side fairways. At WM, when I stand on the tee, I don't feel that same tightness. There SEEMS like there is room if you miss. Consequently, I seem to swing freer there. It definitely fits my eye much better. And, the conditions are different. The ball sits up most of the time in the fairway at WM. Though both courses use bent grass, the soil is different. My divots are perfect at WM. I have probably played OG close to 1000 times. I know it well. Yet it is still a challenge.
Saw your comment about 27 holes. Yes, I was a bit of a slacker as you typically manage 36.
When I finished 18, I thought to myself, WWCBD, and played the last 9.

I know that twinge. And many others. Better give it a rest.
I thought taking off since Wednesday might help some of my "twinges" but after 4 full days off, still feeling lots of concerning things in my shoulders, elbow and back. It sucks getting older. Tee time this afternoon in Florida. Hoping the body cooperates.
Posted a Comment on Your Score: on 11/19/2015 at 5:28pm
Wow, two rounds today, in the rain no less. You guys are animals. I have a hard enough time keeping my body together for 2 rounds in three days. What is your secret? I think all three of us are about the same age. (Saw that Charlie's photo is from his 59th birthday.) Great round, second time around.
I was terrible out there today. Not score, just swings. Just call me Shankapotomus today.
Looked for you when I finished. Checked with Dick in the pro shop and he said you had already been in. You must have gotten started earlier than you projected. I think I was in the pro shop around 1. Maybe 1:15 latest.
Why does Charlie hate WM? Did he have a bad round(s)?
Saw your post on my page about you and Charlie headed to WM today at 1pm-ish. I have to be home by around 2 today, but I am going to play in the am. I will keep an eye out for you guys and come say hello if I see you when I'm done, which should be around 1-2pm, depending on whether the course is quiet today, as I expect. Either way, hope you guys have a good day out there.
I'm off to FL next week, and have to do a couple trips to CT in December for work projects, but as long as there is still decent golf here, we'll get together for some winter golf at WM, with winter rules. EVen though we are officially out-of-season now in MD, WM is in too good shape to play winter rules at this point. It's near perfect in my opinion. I may also venture out to Glade Valley too next month. I'll save Musket Ridge, Maryland National and Whiskey Creek for when the weather and conditions are perfect again in the spring and summer.

I feel for you. I have been in the shoes you wore today, too many times. Weak fades were common drives for me during a few periods over the past few years. I find I just need to swing through (not at) the ball and I can usually get much lower spin, resulting in much straighter drives. Easy to say, not always easy to do on a day you are struggling. I'm sure the 20 mph wind didn't help your mindset either. Sure, "swing easy when it's breezy" sounds good on paper, but try to get your subconscious mind to believe it as you start your downswing.
Again, sorry I missed you today. I wish I were there. At least it was sunny and 60 there, with near-perfect fairways, rough and greens. It was windy here, 46-50*, dark, gloomy and drizzling, with cart path only after heavy rain yesterday and this morning. I was having trouble reaching par 4s in 2 with GOOD ballstriking. So, if you were gonna have a bad ballstriking day in 20 mph winds, the deck was already stacked against you before you teed off. Forget it. Move on.
Sorry I missed those PMs. The system doesn't notify you when you get one I guess. Thanks for alerting me on my latest stat page.
Unfortunately, I left for CT today. Just got here. Will not be back at Worthington until next week at some point and then only for a few days before heading to FL for T'giving week at my Mom's...and a few rounds of golf on Bermuda grass. I have Glade Valley on my agenda. Definitely want to get over there, though I'm sure the conditions are deteriorating fast. By December, when I get back from FL, who knows what to expect. I'll be looking for your score/stats from tomorrow. Wish I was there. The conditions at Worthington are still awesome. I am playing Oxford Greens tomorrow in CT. Probably Friday and Saturday too. I'm betting their conditions are not quite as good as Worthington. At least there is no snow in the forecast. I would like to play with you and Pingbuster at some point. I can be the "C" player in the group. Sorry I am missing you at WM again this week. Hit 'em straight.

Damn! Can't believe I missed you. Was planning to play today, but wife asked me to stay home to meet an HVAC guy who never showed! Pissed. I was planning to play around 11 before the request....late last night.
Seems like you ate up the course. Impressive. Bird on 8? Even more impressive. That's a tough par 3 unless the pin is back left. Not that it is easy there. Just a little easier. And I thought I was playing it well. Not compared to you. Great job.

Hey Chris, saw your message on my last score and replied, but you wouldn't see it unless you knew to look back again, which I wouldn't expect you to do. What shape is Glade Valley in? I'll give it a shot one of these days with you. Headed back to CT tomorrow for a few days, but back in MD in a week or so.

Per your comment on my last round entry page, yes, I expect there will be plenty of golf in MD. Moving into new home Friday (next to Worthington Manor). Our beautiful pup is then having surgery on the following Monday on her leg, which will keep me home with her all that week. Then I have to come back up to CT for some work commitments for a week. Don't know when I'll actually get a chance to play next door at Worthington, but I am anxious to do so, as well as start the next chapter of my golf life...and real life, which I sometimes have to remind myself are not the same thing. Hope to hook up with you once my game is back on track.

Nice round, as usual. Thought of you this weekend. Was in MD checking out houses and golf courses. Love Maryland National, Musket Ridge and Worthington Manor. Also Whiskey Creek, though they don't offer memberships. All courses in fabulous condition from what I can tell. Didn't play any...yet. Found a home we are considering in Urbana, about a quarter mile from the entrance to Worthington. Beautiful areas, both Urbana and Middletown. Lots of rolling hills and farmland. Looking forward to playing all these tracks....and many others in the area.
Didn't swing a club all weekend. At least my injuries were happy.

Thanks Doug. Yes yesterday was a fine day but right now I am pressed for the time. I have a 10 day vacatiobn to the Carribean coming up and trying to wrap some work issues up.

Not a bad early season result. Good to see that you were able to get out there. That might mean we aren't too far behind up here in CT. My wife told me it was 70 degrees down there yesterday or the day before. Surprised you didn't sneak in a round then. We are still snow covered here at present. Fingers crossed for next weekend. You'll probably have three or four rounds in by then, based on your frequency of play last season.

Most of the courses north of me still have frozen greens. They just reopened yesterday. It's been pretty shitty around here this year.
Have a great time in Florida. Hit em straight.

I was surprised I didn't see a score from yesterday for you. My wife got back to MD after being here in CT for a week and said it was really nice there on Sunday, at least compared to here. No snow, light jacket weather. So, I expected to see a score on SG360 today, but for yesterday. Seems like you missed a good day, but you played well today, so I'm guessing you are happy. BTW, another 10 inches since yesterday here. This is getting ridiculous.
Picking my wife up in MD on Friday and heading to Florida for a couple weeks. Hoping to get some warm weather rounds in. Just hope I can remember how to play.

Back at it. Course is soaked but no rain today. Cloudy. Joined Miguel, Paul and Steven. They from n.y. Funny as hell. Continued to strike it hard. Putting is really sharp.

Played w Joel Brian trey from d.c. We all here on vacation. Fun day. Hit ball hard all day. Wet conditions as it rained all nite and still drizzling as we teed off. No roll but greens held.

Too much daylight left. Went around again but wore down some on the back. Started cutting across the ball resulting in a few flails but generally a great day.

I copy that Doug. 3-putt city here too. Cap is up over two points as well. Yeah my game is a little off but I've had some health issues as you know. I think my swing has changed some to compensate. But as I said that it occurred to me it's the putts. PATHETIC! Used to be the strongest part of my game.
Almost three months off the cigs. Had a growth cut out my throat last week and waiting on the tests. Outpatient stuff. Since rupturing my L-4 disk in 2012 my luck may be running out. Still not fully healed and may never be. It has been never ending.
Your game will come around. You keep working it.

I'll tell you John, I have been struggling with the putter for a month. Ray Charles could have produced better results. Drives and chips have been great.
How do you like Charlie's new handle? His PING driver broke the other day.

Thanks man. It was brutal out here from hole front nine, 1st round. We took a break after 9, ate and went back out. We were pretty wet. Finally let up early second round.
Scratch it baby.

2 man teams. Match play. Everyone plays their own ball. Low score on hole wins point for team. Also low team score per hole wins point. Hdcp set by lowest player each week. 18 points up for grabs.
Last week was first nite. All hdcp are already recorded. My partner is Skip. I am a 4 for nine holes. Skip is an 8. We played two guys with a 9 and 16. So Skip gets 4. the other team gets 5 and 11 because they play off me. Obviously someone getting 11 strokes means 2 strokes on two holes. Tough to beat that.

You made me look back a year to see where I was. Looks like I dropped 2 strokes. I'm not hitting that many fairways but I can play em. The one key I can point is to is I changed my grip from Vardon to baseball some time ago and stayed with it. As a result of this stronger grip I am reaching greens. I scramble well enough that I can keep damage to a minimum. And as will always happen sooner or later, everything goes to shit.
